McDermott International is set to secure multiple offshore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), with a combined value estimated at up to $1.5 billion, reinforcing its position in the Middle East’s offshore EPC market.

The anticipated awards are linked to ADNOC’s ongoing offshore oil and gas expansion programme and align with the company’s broader strategy to scale production capacity while enhancing asset reliability and operational performance across its upstream portfolio.

In November, ADNOC outlined plans to invest up to $150 billion over the next five years, underscoring a long-term commitment to maximising the value of its hydrocarbon resources while meeting rising global energy demand. Offshore developments form a central pillar of this capital investment strategy, as the company accelerates field development across Abu Dhabi’s offshore assets.

McDermott’s expected role reflects its established track record delivering large-scale offshore EPC projects for national oil companies across the region. The US-based contractor has long been active in the Middle East, leveraging integrated offshore fabrication, installation and project management capabilities to execute complex developments.

Under the leadership of chief executive Michael McKelvy, McDermott has prioritised disciplined project execution, cost control and operational efficiency. This approach has strengthened its competitiveness and positioned the company as a preferred EPC partner for technically demanding offshore projects at scale.

The potential ADNOC awards would further consolidate McDermott’s footprint in the UAE offshore sector, as national oil companies continue to prioritise long-term investments in upstream capacity amid sustained global energy demand.
